February – Primrose & Violet
You may think that the best flower to describe the month of love is the rose. Interestingly enough, it isn’t. In fact, it’s actually the primrose and the violet.
Primrose flowers stand for young love, youth, and even everlasting existence. Moreover, the word “primrose” comes from the Latin “primus,” meaning “first” or “early.” And yes, the primrose is one of the first flowers we see blooming in spring.
Violets are seen as a symbol of humility, modesty, and virtue. These lovely, vivid purple flowers have been around for a very long time. The vibrant flower has this splendid heart-shaped petal, which is thought to be the main reason why violets were extremely popular in love potions.
