9. Schefflera (Schefflera arboricola)
Also known as the umbrella plant, Schefflera leaves are broad, abundant, and glossy. If you’re looking for a plant to bring a tropical vibe into your house, this one is exactly what you need.
Use your Schefflera as a background plant or place it in a bright, warm corner for a lovely canopy effect. These tropical plants are slower-growing when kept indoors; otherwise, they are pretty fast-growing. Mature ones may have up to 12 leaflets on a single stalk, while younger ones are more likely to have four to six.
Humidity, warmth, and light are the keys to growing a healthy Schefflera. Though pretty rare to happen, it may bloom with a burgundy or red flower. Plant yours in a rich, loose potting mix with moist compost and fertilize on a regular basis. Water and mist it weekly in the summer, but reduce watering in the winter.
