8. Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)
Peace lilies are very charming, especially when in bloom and massed, though you can seldom see this lovely white flower peek out of its hood. This tropical plant is considered low-maintenance, though not always, and a healthy one may bloom twice a year, resulting in a couple of months of flowers.
Even if it’s a bit of a challenge to care for your peace lily during the winter, it’s still well worth the effort. This moderate-growing plant will reach maturity in about three years. Avoid direct sunlight and make sure to keep the temperature above 40 degrees F. Maintain the soil evenly moist and mist the plant frequently in the summer. Reduce watering during the winter season.
Note that peace lilies can be toxic to pets and people, so be careful about where you place your plant in your house.
