Use steel wool to stop mice.
As another preventative pest removal method, you can seal the cracks or any holes in walls and baseboards with steel wool. Pests can’t chew through it.
Inspect the outside of your home.
Consider trimming back any branches that touch your home. Ants use branches as a bridge to get inside your house. Also, look for gaps and holes in fascia and soffits, especially where they run into connecting rooflines.
Another thing to watch out for? A missing or chewed-up screen on roof vents allows bats, squirrels, and other pests to access your attic. Finally, if you don’t already have them, add some chimney caps.
They’ll prevent rodents and birds from making the firebox of your fireplace their permanent home.
