1. Sunflower
Among the quintessential late-season flowers, sunflowers are one of those that bloom in the fall. Although most of them will continue to grow even as the temperature becomes cooler, others may peak in the middle of the summer. When the seed heads’ backs or seeds themselves begin to turn brown or yellow, harvest the crop. The fun thing is that you’ll have to get there before the birds do!
2. Balloon Flower
These lovely flowers, which come in blue, white, and pink hues, live up to their name by looking like hot air balloons before they bloom. Even though they prefer full sun, they may also grow well in little shade.
