2. Anthurium (Anthurium andraeanum)
Anthurium is a tropical plant that is highly cherished for its yellow spadix and stately, bright red flower. There are many anthurium species available out there, and while they’re pretty challenging to grow, they’re highly rewarding plants. So, even if you’re new to this houseplant game, with a bit of patience and practice, your anthurium will be just fine.
Plant yours in rich, loose potting soil and keep it moist, while at the same time ensuring the roots aren’t too moist. Avoid placing it in a spot that gets full sun, but rather somewhere with bright, indirect light. The anthurium can reach 12–18 inches tall and 9–12 inches wide at its mature size.
