1. Your water smells funny

As you already know, pure water shouldn’t give off a specific smell. However, if yours is contaminated with several substances, such as algae, sulfur, iron, lead, chlorine, and copper, they can release a particular scent that’s not pleasant.

2. Your water tasted bad

We’ve all known since we were children that water should be insipid, odorless, and colorless. With that in mind, you know how good water tastes, especially after a long day or a tough workout. However, if your tap water tastes funky, it might be due to the contaminants it contains. These elements can alter water’s taste, and they might be harmful to your health as well.

Experts say you should stay away from water that tastes like metal, chlorine, dirt, or grass, and if that’s your case, it might be best to install a high-quality water treatment system. Since you need water to survive, hydrate, have energy, and replenish what you’ve lost due to sweat and dehydration, you might as well drink a good one, right?

3. Your water isn’t clear

Here’s a quick way to determine if you need a water treatment system for your home: grab a clear glass and pour some tap water into it. Now take a good look at it. Do you see any particles floating around in your glass? Does your tap water have a tint of yellow, red, or brown? If the answer to these questions is yes, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but your water isn’t clear.

4. Your belongings are stained

Another way to determine whether you need a water treatment system or not is to take a look at your dishes, surfaces, and clothes and check if there are any stains on them. Your washing machine and dishwasher should make your items sparkle, not add unwanted stains to them.

As experts say, the more contaminated your water is, the more it will stain your items. You might also notice irregular spots on your bathtub and toilet bowls due to impurities, so if you want to get rid of them for good, you should probably think about investing in a water treatment system.

5. Your family members don’t feel well

As we’ve already discussed, contaminated water can be harmful to your health, so it’s not good to drink it. Over time, contaminants can affect your health, as experts say, and you could experience frequent cases of flu and colds, nausea, and even more dangerous illnesses.

If you or one of your family members don’t feel well and you’re suddenly sick, water might be to blame. Believe it or not, I experienced drinking tap water without a water treatment system at the office, and I felt incredibly bloated. I indeed suffer from bloating issues, but I try to eat healthily and stay away from sugar, and the only thing that could’ve upset my stomach was contaminated water.

If you don’t believe me, try an experiment for a week: drink tap water that’s unfiltered for a week, then switch to pure water for the following one. Notice how you feel and how your digestive system works; pay attention if you have any allergies; and also notice your mood and hydration levels. If you feel better drinking pure water, it might be a smart idea to invest in a water treatment system.

6. Your hair and skin are dry after showering

Another sign that the water in your home is contaminated is shown in your hair and skin. If you notice they’re dry after each shower, regardless of how moisturizing your shower gel is, you should probably think about getting a water treatment system.

According to experts, certain contaminants, such as hardness minerals and chlorine, can dry out your hair and skin, especially after showering and washing your hands. Of course, you might also suffer from dry skin in general, but if that’s not a problem, you should look into your water’s quality.

Have you ever noticed that your hands are dry after washing them? I initially thought that my skin was sensitive, and I tried using different soaps and moisturizers until I had the tap water at the office tested.

7. You have constant plumbing problems

Having constant plumbing problems is definitely not something to be cheerful about. Solving the issue takes time and can leave a hole in your budget. Multiple reasons could trigger this issue, but one common cause is poor water quality. According to experts, some water contaminants can cause clogged drains, while others are more likely to corrode your pipes and even cause them to burst.

If you notice that plumbing is constantly an issue in your household, you should look more into this problem and call a professional to ask if you need to install a water treatment system. It might be expensive, but it will save you a ton of money in the long run.

8. You had it tested

Analyzing your water with a qualified water quality analyst is the best way to determine whether you need a water treatment system. By taking advantage of the best quality tests, you can find out exactly which toxins and in what amounts are in the water that comes out of your taps.

9. You received a quality report from the city

If you receive water from your city, you should probably receive a yearly report to see its quality. If the study reveals excessive concentrations of certain chemicals, your tap water might be contaminated, and you should invest in a water treatment system to improve it.

10. You see limescale on your plumbing fixtures

One of the easiest ways to tell if your house has hard water is to look for limescale. If you notice white, crusty residue building up on your sinks, faucets, tubs, and other plumbing fixtures, it’s a sign that your home needs a water treatment system.

If you’re looking for a great water treatment system that gets the job done, is easy to install, and saves you a lot of trouble and money in the long run, here‘s a good one for you!
