8. English Ivy
Several studies have shown that English ivy is one of the best air-purifying plants out there. It’s very effective at absorbing many VOCs like octane, benzene, toluene, and trichloroethylene. It’s also a wonderful indoor plant that improves respiratory health, especially for people with allergies or asthma.
Other studies concluded that English ivy does an excellent job of absorbing mold particles from the air. If you start noticing green and black spots in certain corners of your house, that’s a sign you have a mold problem in your house. While English ivy alone won’t solve the root cause of an issue like this, it can definitely help you keep mold at bay after you have it removed from your house.
This houseplant also has one of the highest transpiration rates, increasing the humidity levels in a room. It reduces the amount of carbon monoxide, improving the quality of the air you breathe and thus your respiratory health.
