9. Jade Plant (Crassula ovata)
The jade plant is a popular indoor succulent with simple care requirements and a quite long lifespan of as much as 70 years with proper care. This easy-going plant is slow-growing—adding only around two inches of height per year—but it can reach a height between three and six feet.
Its round, fleshy leaves help the plant hold onto water and tolerate neglect. Being a succulent, it likes to dry out between deep waterings.
Jade plants feature a woody trunk, and you can help it grow more by cutting the new stem in the spring. Under perfect conditions, these easy-going plants can produce small, star-shaped flowers of white or pink.
