Q Can you tell us about Roraima Nursery and what you make?
Roraima is a plant arc for collectors and gardeners alike. We aim to inspire with use of unusual plants in dramatic landscapes. As well as offer these plants for sale.
Q Did you always want to work with plants? What led you to opening your own nursery?
From as early as I can remember I have always been interested in the natural world (for those who are older I was likened to Harry Butler!) Being crazy and trying to grow everything I needed a permanent place to create display gardens and sell some plants so I could buy more!
Q What is your favourite plant variety?
I collect across the board, but I’m partial to Cussonia species . We have 9 so far.
Q What are your top garden essentials?
An adventurous spirit and being able to throw caution to the wind!
Q What’s your favourite part of what you do?
Watching plants grow and then seeing nature incorporating them, for example, birds, animals and insects feeding off or in them, nesting or using them for their homes.
