Tumble dryers

Dryers shouldn’t be kept in your garage because cooler temperatures can impact them. Under normal circumstances, the room temperature should be above 40 degrees.

If it’s lower than that, the water that should condense in the condenser container could begin to condense on other cold surfaces. This means that the only thing that happens to your wet laundry is that it feels a bit warm.

Some of the latest electronic dryers might even display an error code and stop working if the room temperature is too low. Vented tumble dryers are more likely to function at low temperatures. But it’s best to check the instructions first.

Alcohol

Don’t keep your wine, beer, or any other alcoholic drinks in your garage. Even sealed bottles can be impacted by the intense summer heat of an uninsulated garage.

Wine, in particular, doesn’t do well with extreme temperature changes. Store your wine and other potent libations at stable indoor temperatures to keep your beverages tasting fresh.
