Leave the windows bare.

Bare windows in the proper space might look more stylish than you’d ever expected, but this doesn’t mean that it’s always the right way to go. Curtains and all the other window dressings might be used without having to obscure your windows and reduce the amount of sunlight filtering through.

Leaving your windows without coverings might make a room seem unfinished. Window coverings could introduce a bit of color, patterns, and warmth but also control the amount of light and privacy you want.

They also help set the tone of the room, whether it’s relaxed or formal. You might want to try a wide variety of curtains, blinds, and shutters to see which ones match the room’s aesthetics and enhance the space.

Keep the ceilings white.

In larger rooms, lots of people struggle to adapt to the idea that they should paint their ceilings any color other than white. However, from color-drenching to patterned wallpapers, the fifth wall is nothing but an opportunity to give a bit of spice to the smallest of spaces.

Ceilings painted white are, in most cases, the go-to choice for smaller spaces. They create the illusion of height and brightness. But if you have the guts to go a different color, you can easily infuse that character and catch the eye.

Even if white ceilings are much more recommended to give that impression of height, we’d advise you to avoid some home decor rules and be bold.
