2. Stark white

A white bathroom. This sounds basic. We all have seen white bathrooms; why would this be one of the unsuitable bathroom colors, right? It’s the epitome of cleanliness and purity, and we all want a clean bathroom. What can be so wrong?

This is a tricky color, and this is why it is one of the worst bathroom color choices. It creates an airy and clan feeling, but at the same time, it is too impersonal. After all, you don’t want to feel like you are at the hospital.

It’s too cool, and if you don’t have adequate lighting, it can fall a little flat. When the white is “too white,” all of the shadows and darkness will be more accentuated, and this can turn out to be really unsettling.

If you still feel like white is the color for you, there are more types you can choose from. A warmer off-white or a light modern beige works great and gives that neutral aesthetic you are craving. These shades can offer a similar brightness without the coldness of pure white.

Some specific color options are Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa and Natural Linen. They create that sense of openness without making the space feel cold.
