Do you have any pantry organizing tricks? Because I want to share mine with you!
The pantry is one of my favorite spots in the kitchen, apart from my beautiful matching table and chairs, which bring me joy each time I eat. I like having a convenient place to store my children’s snacks, baking supplies, pasta, canned foods, or other packaged products.
You can also save an upper shelf for smaller gadgets, like a blender or a sandwich maker, which makes storage a lot easier. However, since the pantry is out of sight, it can often become a clutter depository. But no more of this!
Thanks to a few simple pantry organizing tricks, you can categorize and store your items the right way without too much effort. Whether you have a tiny cabinet in your kitchen or a full-on walk-in pantry, there’s a hack for you. So, are you ready to get this party started? Roll up your sleeves and let’s get organized:
1. Group foods by type
Imagine that your pantry is a grocery store. You want things to be organized so you can see better what you want to get. So, why not group your foods by type? Designate different areas for breakfast items, dinner supplies, spices and condiments sections.
While it may take a while to properly group all of these items, it will save you a lot of time and money in the long run. Once you know exactly what you have in your pantry, you will be able to whip up a couple of meals without needing to go to the grocery store again.
2. Use a storage mix
It can be easy to lose track of your products, but not anymore, thanks to this pantry-organizing trick. All you have to do is invest in multiple storage solutions, like metal bins, food storage containers, and woven baskets.
Group your items in these organizers and label each one of them so you don’t forget what’s inside. This smart tip will also help you keep things neat and clean.

3. Use glass jars
I bet you’ve seen lots of famous people’s pantries on Instagram, showcasing their beautiful glass jars filled with nuts, grains, and beans. It’s super pleasing to look at, but there’s more to it than just being pretty!
One great reason to decant your foods is to keep pesky infestations at bay! Imagine opening your bag of flour and finding critters hiding inside, or worse, eggs in your cake mix. Yikes! By transferring your ingredients into clear containers, you not only make your pantry look fabulous, but you’ll also help keep those unwanted guests away.

4. Add mesh drawers
If you’re lucky enough to have a bigger pantry, you can invest in mesh drawers to protect your produce and still have it in hand. For example, I prefer having open shelving on top and closed storage down below.
I keep my everyday snacks and ingredients in the glass jars I mentioned above and use mesh drawers for storing produce such as onions, garlic, and potatoes. It keeps things handy and clean.
5. Vertical space
If you don’t have a lot of horizontal space, you can also make the most of your vertical space; just make sure you have a stool or a ladder nearby. You can make the most of this pantry organizing trick by taking your shelving all the way to the ceiling and storing all the ingredients, pots, pans, or appliances you don’t use as often there.
This simple tip can save you a lot of space and time! Make sure you don’t forget about your items, though, because you won’t see them as often!
6. Dress your door
As you can already tell, I’m all about maximizing the space you already have, so why not dress your pantry door with tiny shelves? It’s the perfect way of storing spices, smaller cans, jars, or tiny olive oil glass bottles. You’ll be surprised by how many things a rack on the back of the door can fit and hold.
7. Label your containers
I’m a huge labeling fan, if you can’t tell by now, and that’s because it makes things so much simpler and neater.
If you’re turning a storage cabinet into a pantry, why not make the most of it? Fill it with spare linens, handy kitchen utensils, and containers filled with your favorite baking supplies—this way, everything is within easy reach! To keep things simple and tidy, don’t forget to label each container on the top. Happy organizing!
This task won’t take longer than an hour, and it will save you a ton of time and trouble in the future.
8. Divide cabinets vertically
Tray dividers are a friendly and simple solution for keeping your kitchen organized! They work wonders for separating cutting boards, pizza pans, and baking sheets.
You’ll find them perfect for base cabinets, pantry cabinets, or even those deep upper cabinets where things can get a bit messy. Say goodbye to clutter and hello to a neat and tidy kitchen!
…Would you give this pantry organizing trick a try? It’s a game-changer!

10. Use a glass cabinet
I’m all about repurposing old things to maximize the space or items I have, and I love glass cabinets. They remind me of my grandmother’s kitchen. She had a beautiful white cabinet with glass doors and turquoise margins, where she would keep her fine China. She wouldn’t allow us to touch the teacups or glasses, and she only used those when she would have guests.
When I moved into my home, I immediately bought a glass cabinet for myself. I have one in my closet; it’s where I keep my sweaters. Don’t judge it until you try it; it looks amazing.
But going back to our topic, you can turn a glass cabinet into a beautiful pantry. Stick all your products in baskets and jars and put them in your glass cabinet. You can even store it in your living room because it doubles as an amazing decor piece. Other than that, it keeps everything neat and tidy, and it’s easy to reach.
