Make your own chip clips!
Do you know those hangers designed for skirts and pants in your closet? Well, if yours look a bit old and need to be replaced, a good home storage idea is to transform some of those hangers into “chip clips!”
All you need is the clip parts! Take off the rest, and you’re all set. Each hanger provides you with two new chip clips. But that’s not all! You can even repurpose an old plastic bottle.
Once you’re done with a water bottle, cut off the neck where it connects with the cap. Pull a bag through it, and fold the bag over. Then simply add your cap. Simple, right?
Maximize hand tool storage with an on-a-roll pegboard door.
We found a genius home storage idea for you to maximize your hand tool storage in a tool cabinet with a nifty little DIY project. The key to this is a 4ft long by-pass sliding door hardware set.
You can find it for about $15 at your local hardware store. Simply mount a 1/4in pegboard onto it, providing enough room to hang your tools and still allow that door to slide by the one in front.
Amazon has some great accessory options, including these Daanxw 1/4 inch Heavy-Duty Pegboard Hooks. The secret here is to insert 1/2in plywood spacers in the roller hardware.
You can use the floor bracket with the slider hardware to maintain the two-inch space at the bottom of the cabinet. For door handles, drill a couple of 1-1/4in holes in the pegboard.
Then, all you have to do is pop in the pegs and neatly hang up your tools!
